Last time when I was in Belize City, I got hold of sliced almonds. I had to pay 12 BZ (6$ or 4,50 €) for 170 g - almost a fortune... but sometimes it's worth it.
For the Rose-Apple Cake I needed 80 grams - so I can bake another one... or try something different.
