plum-cinnamon gelato with rum - caramelized pecan nut gelato

While it's getting cold in Germany and it's freezing in the night, I started with frozen desserts :)

It's not so easy to get proper ingredients for gelato and to find some heavy cream is like looking for snow in the desert. So I had to be creative - and I think I was successful.

My first two different varieties are "plum-cinnamon with rum" and "caramelized pecan nuts".

Nut-Choo's

The word "choo" is Kreol and means "to chew"... and this is what you have to do with this pastry.

I put in 400 gram of nuts. It's a mixture of pecan nuts, walnuts and almonds. Instead of apricot jam I made them with papaya-mango-jam.

The combination of the tartish fruits with the nuts and the bittersweet chocolate is delicious.

Thanks for being interested in my blog - the kitchen fairy.

Sour Creme Coffee Cake

...with pekan nuts and cinnamon.

I saw the recipe last week at another food blog. The cake looked so sappy and delicous that I decided to bake this cake for our Monday Club.

Unfortunately the writer of the blog used American measurements as well as German and I mixed up the amount of pecan nuts.

Instead of a cup (240 ml) I took 240 gram - almost double the amount.

But this is no problem because I love the taste of these nuts.

Yogurt-Pecan Munchies with a touch of cocoa

It's not so easy to get nice ingredients here, but every now and then I'll find something special.

This time I was successful at FTC and got some yogurt drops.

I used them together with pecan nuts and cocoa for a new munchie creation.
